Why

Why is TPC® a better solution than removable appliances with various barrier?

TPC®, similarly to other barriers, prevents the language from being placed in the wrong position, but its operation is not only about blocking the space for the tongue, but on its uprightness.

Ensuring the correct positioning of the tongue by the TPC® device is possible thanks to a specially profiled plate, which in the front section is led out in the registered position of the jaw and mandible towards the lower incisors. The resulting tunnel uses a natural reflex to search space through tongue. The new device is perceived by the patient as more comfortable compared to devices with a wire barrier. At the same time, it prevents the habit of translating the tongue under the barrier.

Building

The basic TPC® appliance consists of a palatal acrylic plate, Fisher screw placed on the bottom of the palate, lip arch and retaining elements.

TPC® can be equipped with additional wire and acrylic elements depending on the design and treatment plan, including:

• spring
• lip bumpers
• slopes for correction of crossbite, etc.

Application

The TPC® appliance is used to extend the upper dental arch and, at the same time, correct the position of the tongue, most often in the treatment of open bites.

Attention

The TPC® language positioner was constructed in cooperation with doctors from the Department of Orthodontics, Medical University of Lodz. At present, the GREG-DENT, as the creator of the apparatus, has the exclusive right to perform it. The apparatus is an industrial design, protected by the Law on Copyright and Related Rights of February 4, 1994. The design has been registered under number: 002522268-0001
